The Nursery: Before
Shortly after Christmas 2004, we decided it was time to get Thomas' nursery ready. We were going to use the front, guest room as it does not get too much sunlight in the mornings. So, we moved all the guest room furniture to a downstairs bedroom, and a daybed and dresser upstairs to the nursery. I was left with boring, ugly beige walls and some old furniture. Blah! I was so depressed. It was time for a change! Here is the before picture.
The first thing we did was to tape the windows, doors, and ceiling as I am a very messy painter.

We
decided to add a race car border at chair rail height on two of the walls.
The other two walls would be painted a solid, light blue. So, the next
step was to tape two of the walls so that I could paint stripes. My
husband helped me with the laser level to make sure the lines were straight!
While the white stripes were drying, we painted the remaining walls a light blue.
